Modus Operandi was engaged to manage a site-specific art commission for RISE, a new residential development by Mount Anvil, at Atlip Road in Alperton overlooking the Grand Union Canal. Artist Keith Wilson was selected to develop an artwork made up of five elements. These coloured posts, each almost 3.5 metres in height, are set in a linear arrangement that complements the surrounding architecture. The colourful materials that Wilson has employed in the artwork are more commonly used in marine industries, creating a visual connection between the artwork and its canal-side location.
‘As you cross the bridge to Atlip Road, my sculpture comes into view like a little piece of theatre as the slender bars of colour merge and separate. Together, these colourful elements connect the two buildings with their industrial rainbow, the orange peel ripple of the pigmented surfaces picking up on the canal's reflected light.' Keith Wilson.
