Kerfuffle by Liz Rideal was one of a series of temporary artworks commissioned for the iconic ‘prow’ of BBC Broadcasting House during its redevelopment. The work was on show between May and November 2004.
The artist was invited to respond to the theme of broadcasting. Depicting a hand poised to draw aside red curtains, the work refers to the unveiling of the refurbished building and to the hidden 1930s Radio Theatre within it. The images played with the idea of concealing a wrapped Broadcasting House, prior to revealing a transformed building to the public.
Kerfuffle was part of the BBC Broadcasting House Public Art Programme, curated by Modus Operandi.
