Tim Head’s temporary artwork created for Queen Street explored the innate qualities of the various media through which we perceive our environment. In Float, square pixels were projected onto the façade of an ornate stucco building on the junction of Queen Street and Queen Victoria Street. The pixels' paths and colours were randomly generated by a real-time computer programme that constantly updated the projection, so the same scenario was never repeated.
This work is part of the Light Up Queen Street Programme, curated and organised by Modus Operandi.
