In her commission for Light Up Queen Street, Susan Collins focused on the hidden world beneath our feet, illuminating the network of drains and gullies which service the streets. Drains from the Guildhall Yard to the bottom of Queen Street were lit from dusk until dawn with each drain gradually shifting through an intense and vibrant palette. The effect - both magical and discreet - was to activate these portals of grime into jewel-like doses of pure colour.
