As part of the Phoenix Initiative in Coventry, a series of art commissions were realised in new public spaces throughtout the city. Artist Chris Browne was commissioned to create an intervention for the quiet and contemplative space of the Priory Gardens within the Coventry Cathedral cloisters. Having formed a relationship with the City Archaeology Department, Browne's resultant commission explored Coventry's history by utilising objects discovered as part of the excavation of the site, combined with objects from Coventry’s industrial past.
This commission is part of the Phoenix Initiative Public Art Programme, curated and managed by Modus Operandi.
