Following an invited competition organised by Modus Operandi, Shelagh Wakely was commissioned to create a new work for 199 Knightsbridge. Her Water Drawings enliven the two gently curved Portland stone walls flanking the entrance to the building. The rippling surface of the water cascading down a low wall on the road front and collecting in a pool behind is reflected on the ceiling and the water pattern is also taken up on the curved walls behind, in which blue, silver, reflective and iridescent glass is set flush with the Portland stone.
