As part of the redevelopment of the former Westminster Hospital into residential apartments, artists were invited to propose an artwork for the boundary wall between the former hospital and St John’s Gardens. Following an invited competition, Wendy Ramshaw was commissioned to create a series of decorative panels in mild steel for the twelve apertures in this existing wall, visible to both users of the public gardens and residents of the new apartments. The geometric designs that subtly shift across the wall are all sections derived from a single image, entitled Abstract.
